It's been too long

Wow! I'm still recovering from setting the clocks back last night. Yawning and stretching.

Well, here's an update on The Persnickety Witch of Fiddyment Creek.
  • IT'S FINISHED!!!! My life got crazy and I kept rearranging paragraphs. Then one day, I wrote what is now the last line, sat back, and like Forrest Gump, announced to nobody in particular, "And that's all I have to say about that."
  • Chatted with a friend I met in Senegal and he told me that his cousin is a copy editor, gave me her info, and I contacted her.
  • She and I worked out the business arrangement, she read PWOFC, made her editorial suggestions and comments, and we became good friends in the process. She even came here from Wisconsin for a special weekend, and went to my book club (they had just read PWOFC and the timing was perfect).
  • Started looking for a publisher. No bueno.
  • Began to entertain the idea of self-publishing. I've been resisting that for a loooooong time.
  • My son told me about kickstarter.com as a means to raising money to fund my project.
  • An artist is working on designing a book cover (I need it for kickstarter). So far, I've seen and approved a "pencil rough" -- sat here and bawled my eyes out when I first saw it. It's exactly what I envisioned. Now he's doing more magic and adding color.
  • I've given lots of thought to Sable Books. More about that at another time.
So, that's a bulleted outline to bring you up to speed. Keep watching for more details.
